I came on staff with InterVarsity's Greek ministry the summer of 2003. I spent my first 4 years working to start a brand new Greek IV ministry at Elon University, then felt God's call to use my planting gifts to start another Greek IV ministry at the University of Virginia, then Wake Forest, and then Arizona State University. I then transitioned the ministry to two new Greek IV staff that graduated from ASU and began serving as the Regional Coordinator for Greek Ministry in the Rocky Mountain Region. In this role I supervised/coached staff on how best to reach Greek students on their campus. It was thrilling to see ministry to Greeks grow in that part of the country, where it had been almost non-existent. Next my husband and I felt led to move again, this time to Baton Rouge Louisiana. My husband is serving as an executive pastor at a local church, The Chapel, and I spent the last 5 years planting a new Greek ministry at Louisiana State University. When joining staff, I never imagined I would be a ministry planter for so many years, but what can I say, I love seeing something created where there was once nothing. It is my love for seeing new ministries where there are no current ministries that led me to pursue InterVarsity's Graduate and Faculty Ministry (GFM). I leanred that most universities have no ministries that target graduate students or faculty even though many of those people through their work will make a huge impact in our world. I am now serving as the Area Director for Louisiana and the Co-Area Director for Texas. As part of my role I will also be planing a graduate student ministry at LSU while supervising other staff and following leads to try and get more ministry started in Louisiana where there is none. Sometimes I can't believe I get to be part of something so amazing. Praise God for what he is doing through the ministry of GFM across the country!
