Native communities have taught me to experience God as Artist, Creator, and Generous sustainer of all things. There is such beauty in knowing Creator through the cultures, languages, and art forms he has given us. Northwest Region spans WA, OR, northern ID, and Alaska. Many Native students in our region are enrolled at state schools--like Portland State (OR), private schools--like Pacific Lutheran University (WA), and our one Tribal College--Northwest Indian College. NWIC serves 1,200 students from over 90 Tribal nations at 6 campuses around the Puget Sound (WA) and 1 in Nez Pierce (ID), offering degree programs and contextual education especially relevant to tribal communities. As Creator opens opportunities, I desire to journey with Native students, their families, and elders, in following Jesus in ways that celebrates culture and speaks to the heart.
